To be consistent you have to beat your own novelty bias and more importantly, become comfortable with being bored. Our environment today is designed specially in the way, due to social media in large part, that we get constant stimulation. Researches has indicated that it has had many adverse effects on our mind, specially in context of this article 1. shortened attention span 2. Craving for more stimulation.
So If you want to be more consistent maybe just motivation is, although necessary, not enough. One simple exercise I want to suggest is: Just sit without any stimulation for 20 min everyday. No phone, no book, no fidgets and no talking.
you can also try to do some tasks which are boring or monotonous in nature and from which you do not expect any reward. Like reading T&C for something etc.
100% accurate.
